The
Sambassadors of Groove are a Brazilian style percussion
band playing the type of rhythms that set carnival ablaze.
Formed
in 1998 most of it's members were
complete novice musicians,
They
have been invited to perform all over the UK at venues
including Birmingham Metropole, the Blackpool Hilton,
and the Belfry and Gleneagles golf clubs.They were listed
in the Guardians "what's on guide" as one
of the top Samba bands in the country for a gig they
played at the Zodiac Club in Oxford, and won the top
prize at the Burnham Carnival
Success
has not, however, gone to their heads and they are still
firmly rooted in their home town of Leamington Spa.
Every year from January to March they run a series of
induction workshops open for all to attend. But potential
members can come along to any of their regular practice
sessions.
